Tokyo Trip 2014 // Day 1 & 2

After procrastinating for the longest time, I think it's about time for me to write about my 8D7N Tokyo Trip that I recently went in January. Anyway, it's my second trip to Tokyo! You may want to read about my first trip (here) or alternatively you can find all my travel posts on the bottom right hand of my blog under the labels part.

// Day 1 //

Here's my travel partner for this trip! So thankful to have someone who is really good at reading maps ('cos i seriously suck at it) without him around I'll probably be so super lost ;__;

Oh and I brought another travel buddy along! Say hello to inu-kun :)

We paid about $700/pax for the air tickets (inclusive of the taxes & everything). Actually SQ was offering the same promo price but by the time I wanted to book, it was all sold out *tmd* Luckily Delta Air was having promo at the same price as well! And the whole 6hr 45mins flight was pretty comfortable :)

By the time we landed, I realised I was the only idiot wearing shorts in Narita Airport. Yeah, I thought I'd be able to conquer that 7-10 degrees celsius weather but APPARENTLY I FAILED LOL (like what they say 'kiang tio hoh mai gey kiang'). So when I reached the hotel, I quickly wrap myself up before heading down again hahaha! Actually it's the cold wind that is the killer ugh x_x

Brightly lighted trees along Shinjuku.
Was wondering did they forget to take down their x'mas deco lol!

Dinner at some random ramen stall.
Yes, any random ramen stall is still NICE :)

// Day 2 //

Roads outside our hotel. Yep I stayed at the same hotel again because Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku is like one of the best with an affordable price & really good location. Try to book the hotel as early as possible 'cos it's always fully booked!

HOLYMOFO MEGA MUFFIN (*_*)
See how eggggcited M is...

Nope, no mega muffin for me.
McDee's itself is sinful enough for me, don't need extra calories :(

After breakfast, we took a 2 hours bus ride to Fuji-Q Highlands. Previously I passed by that place before, they really have some mad insane roller coaster rides there! So yep we were really looking forward to it :D

Oh hello Mt. Fuji, good to see you again :)

Entrance to the theme park looks pretty deserted, like those abandoned theme parks.

Admission tickets to the theme park is 1,300yen (adult) & 700yen (kids aged 3-11). That's only for admission ok! For the rides, you can choose to buy a one-day pass which cost 5,000yen. Meaning that you can play all the rides inside. But if you are not that adventurous/daring, you can choose to buy the individual rides tickets inside the theme park (from about 500-1,000yen).

Right, I look super happy here. But actually i'm freezing and forcing a smile HAHAHA! It's a pity that it wasn't snowing though :( I just see snow on the floor here there and everywhere.

That happy kid, first time seeing snow LOL!

We actually Q-ed about near to 2 hours for this ride called "Dodonpa!". I totally have no idea what this ride is about because I didn't manage to see the tracks so yeah, don't know what am I getting myself into LOL. Saw the Q was so long, so I thought it should be a good ride (that's always the case right?!)

I totally UNDERESTIMATED this damn ride.
It travels at 172km/h in about 1.8 seconds (O_O)

Okay this video I found on youtube is obviously not doing justice to the high speed but anyway, yes the front blast was I-N-S-A-N-E (and worst still, we sat at the front seat as well #fml much). It was so fucking fast and the cold wind feels like it's piercing on my skin gosh.

Then another awesome ride we took was this famous "Takabisha" roller coaster! (the one which I insta-video) Omg it's a MUST-RIDE in Fuji-Q Highlands!!!! There is even a Guinness World Records cert outside the ride. It may look friggin' scary but it's not that bad actually ;)

One of the crappiest meal throughout my 8 days in Tokyo #justsaying

Hot lemonade never tasted so good before.

Huge ice-skating rink!

LOL WELCOME TO THOMAS LAND.

Mega cute pastries!!!

Steamed potato with butter & mentaiko sauce.

Dinner back at Shinjuku! Every sushi bar is good in Japan, like seriously good.

For A Change.

A new year, a new start.

If you have realised, I actually re-vamped my blog a little.

Yes, perhaps I should start blogging again :)
